Glutathione is an antioxidant known to reduce oxidative stress that occurs due to the imbalance of the production of free radicals and the body’s inability to fight them off. This imbalance may be a precursor to multiple diseases including cancer, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis.
Glutathione also helps to break down nutrients, activate enzymes, produce proteins, repair DNA, and regulate the immune system. In skin health, it is known to lighten and brighten skin tone, reduce dark spots and blemishes and diminish the appearance of acne scars.
Formulated in fast dissolving tablets and administered by placing under the tongue, glutathione is rapidly absorbed through the sublingual mucosa and reaches the systemic circulation without being metabolized and then inactivated by the liver. The sublingual absorption of Oxithion® also eases the administration of glutathione in people with difficulty swallowing and increases the bioavailability of the active ingredient.
